Alex Salmond marked his debut visit to Offshore Europe as First Minister with an appearance at the stand of specialist well and pipeline service company, Qserv. The First Minister met with Qserv’s managing director Tommy Dreelan who said: “It was a great honour for Qserv to have the First Minister at our stand on the first day of Offshore Europe. The visit demonstrates his commitment to the oil and gas industry and mirrors our dedication to the North Sea.”
The First Minister’s visit coincided with Qserv’s recruitment drive which aims to fill more than 180 new vacancies over the next two years, which would bring its employee headcount to 500. To facilitate the training and development of existing and new employees, Qserv has invested heavily in its own on-site training centre. The facility, complete with dedicated classroom, workshop facilities, training well and dedicated equipment, allows for full training to be provided in line with the company’s competence system. It has recently doubled its training personnel to enhance its capabilities to ensure Qserv staff are the most knowledgeable and experienced in the industry.
