Northern Offshore Ltd, operator of production and drilling vessels for the global offshore oil and gas industry, has appointed Gary Bauer as senior vice president.

With more than 35 years’ experience in the drilling industry, Mr. Bauer joins Northern Offshore from Transocean where he was division manager, Egypt and Middle East, responsible for operations, business development and the financial performance of 17 rigs in numerous regions. Prior to this, he served in various area manager capacities with GlobalSantaFe.

Mr. Bauer’s operational experience spans the management of drilling programmes internationally including North Africa, Middle East, Asia, and Asia Pacific regions. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Colorado School of Mines and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Commenting on the appointment, Northern Offshore’s president and chief executive officer Gary Casswell said: “Gary is a welcome addition to Northern Offshore and we are very pleased to have him join our team. His extensive experience with operations and international drilling management will further strengthen our entire organisation.”
